Focus… what are you reflecting?

What are you focusing on that your lifestyle and actions are reflecting? Lately I have been paying close attention to those around me and their language and behavior. I’ve noticed that many times the things people say they believe or support are not in line with their lifestyle or language and the things that are truly portrayed. I’ve found that many people profess Christianity but their actions and things that they support do not line up with scripture. This frightens me.
This has lead me to think about focus and all of the things that people focus on. Many people place all of their time and attention to relationships, the news, politics, elections, Facebook, Pintrist, music, TV, friendships, money, work, jobs and family. Not that any of these things are bad things, but our FOCUS should, in fact, be on God. The rest should be looked at through the eyes of God and His guidelines.
So I ask you, is your focus on God or one of these things mentioned? Do you spend the majority of your time on your relationship with God and the things He wants you to focus on or on other things? Luke 6:45 (NIV) A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
What does your mouth speak? What does your lifestyle reflect? What are you reflecting? What do people see in you? Do they see disconnect, anger, hate, fear or love, peace and joy. If we focus on things of the world.. the world’s ways will be reflected. If we focus on God.. we reflect God’s attributes. If you say you are a Christian your actions should reflect it. If not check your focus!
