Give Thanks

I Chronicles 16:34 says, Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.

We have so much to be thankful for in our lives.  God has been good to us.  He loves us unconditionally.

In the times we live and the economic crisis that has endured it is easy to lose sight of things for which we should give thanks.  We can focus on our situation and all of the things that seem to be different than how we have planned them to be.  These distractions can be consuming.  They steal our joy.

But through it all there is good news.  God is still on the throne.  He is greater than our situation, than these times and the economy.  It is in these times that our character is proven and we get a clear picture of who we are.  If we are dependent on our strength, our jobs, our ability we will most likely be disappointed.  We, with that mindset, will be dependent upon things like the economic climate for our well being.  It doesn’t have to be that way.  If our strength is in the Lord the economy is irrelevant.

He will and has made a way for us.  It is His will to prosper us and that we be in health.  He loved us beyond our comprehension.  He willingly gave His son for us.  He has made a place for those who have given their life to Him.  Through Him all things are possible.

Turn to the Lord on this Thanksgiving day.  Draw near to Him.  Thank Him for His goodness, His kindness, His tender mercy, His grace that is sufficient, His Love that is without end.  Those who seek Him will find Him.  Those who knock on His door will have it opened.  Those who ask Him will be answered.  As your relationship grows with Him you will see that in everything there are things to be thankful for.  Ultimately, for those who are in Him, we know that this life is but a vapor, a moment in the scheme of eternity.  If we focus on the true picture, God’s unfailing goodness and love we will always have a heart of thanksgiving and a reason to praise Him.
