I’m Adopted (Reflections on Romans 8:14-17)

Romans 8:14-17 says, For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to son-ship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
My reflection on these verses is:
I am a chosen child of God. He wants me. He loves me. He saw me at my worst but still selected me to be His child. Because of this I will be blind in the flesh and receive sight from the Spirit. I will walk in confidence in knowing that my Father has chosen and loves me. I know who He is. He is the King, the creator, the all knowing one. He has given me rights and privileges that empower me to do great things. I will walk worthy of my inheritance and will reflect the love that has been shown to me to others.
Life can sometimes make us feel alienated, alone and not loved. But we need to know that we are chosen by God to be His children. He will never leave or forsake us. He will never give us more than we can handle. He desires for us to walk as His children. Experience all of His blessings and share His love with others.
Walk in confidence today of who you are through God. It is great to be a part of His family.
