Be Childish (Reflections on Matthew 18:4)

Matthew 18:4 says, Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
My reflection on this verse is as follows:
I will reverence You oh God and humbly submit myself to You and Your will. I will depend on Your direction. I will stretch my hands to You for Your fathering comfort. I will trust in You completely. I will have faith and believe that everything You say is real and true. I will never doubt in You. I will tell others of how great I think You are. I will run to You when I am afraid, when I need help and when I just need to know that You love me. I will expect great things to happen when we are together. I know that You have great things in store for me but value our relationship far above the things You provide for me. You are with me every day because You reside in my heart.
We have some great, younger friends. They have little children. I love spending time with them. They are so innocent, trusting, pure and honest. When they see me they get excited and grin from ear to ear. Often a hug follows the initial greeting. They show their love regardless of who is there or the environment that exists. They have no concern about what others are thinking. They believe what you tell them and act based on trust. They will jump off of things that are taller than they are high, knowing that I won’t let them fall or be hurt. It is just wonderful to share time with them.
This is what God wants us to be like with Him…as a little child. So I would encourage you today to bring out the child inside of you. Humble yourself before God. Be real with Him. Trust in Him. Show your love to Him. Have complete faith and trust in Him. He wants to reward you. He is your Father and His desire is to have such a wonderful relationship with you that you will look forward to every minute of time that you can spend with Him.
Look at the children in your life and model their behavior in the relationship you have with your Heavenly Father.
