Worship is an action verb

God has designed laws for the earth and our existence in it. Sir Isaac Newton’s discovered this truth and he states, in his third law of motion, that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. In other words, if object A exerts a force on object B, then object B also exerts an equal and opposite force on object A.
This falls true in our spiritual lives as well. Worship is an action verb which would fall under this law of motion. As we worship God, He in-turn has an equal and opposite force exerted back towards us. As you read the following passages note that praying, trusting, waiting and living a life of obedience are all forms of worship. Notice the reactions from God that we get from our actions.
Job 36:11 (New Living Translation) 11 “If they listen and obey God, they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives. All their years will be pleasant.
Psalm 138:3 (New Living Translation) 3 As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.
Isaiah 40:31(New Living Translation) 31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Isaiah 30:18 (KJV) And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Isaiah 25:9 (KJV) And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Deuteronomy 30:8 (The Message) 8-9 And you will make a new start, listening obediently to GOD, keeping all his commandments that I’m commanding you today. GOD, your God, will outdo himself in making things go well for you: you’ll have babies, get calves, grow crops, and enjoy an all-around good life. Yes, GOD will start enjoying you again, making things go well for you just as he enjoyed doing it for your ancestors.
Isaiah 25:9 (The Message) 9-10Also at that time, people will say, “Look at what’s happened! This is our God! We waited for him and he showed up and saved us! This God, the one we waited for! Let’s celebrate, sing the joys of his salvation. God’s hand rests on this mountain!”
Webster’s definition for the word emotion is: a conscious mental reaction subjectively experienced as strong feeling usually directed toward a specific object and typically accompanied by physiological and behavioral changes in the body.
Worship the Lord and see what happens! The greater emotion you add to your motion, the greater response you will receive from the Lord!
Matthew 6:21 (King James Version) 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Psalm 149:2-4 (The Message) Hallelujah! Sing to GOD a brand-new song, praise him in the company of all who love him. Let all Israel celebrate their Sovereign Creator, Zion’s children exult in their King. Let them praise his name in dance; strike up the band and make great music! And why? Because GOD delights in his people, festoons plain folk with salvation garlands!
